"Oh boy, Daddy's home"!

Jill is just the sweetest little girl! She will be 5 this September and we have loved her for a little over a year, and couldn't be happier! We found Jill on-line through Az Border Collie Rescue. Her picture was so cute we just had to meet her! For her and my husband, it was love at first sight! He had always wanted a Border Collie and they just hit it off instantly! Needlesss to say, we left from the meeting with Jill in tow! She has just been such a joy and so much fun! She is very energetic and LOVES to play catch and frisbie! If we are watching a movie, one of us is throwing the ball for her, it's become automatic! I think you call that "multi-tasking"! She figures as long as we aren't doing anything important she should be "working"! She takes her playtime very seriously, as do most border collies. She greets us or shows her enthusiaum with a funny little "wookie" noise that is all her own, you can't help but laugh when she does it. Our Golden Retriever, Jake, just loves his Jill. He likes to lick her ears, and they play-restle and play keep-away routinely. The two are great mouse and lizard hunters in the back yard, they just instinctively work as a team. We couldn't have found a better match for them or for us! Jill has transitioned into our home effortlessly and is a solid part of this family. It's hard to beleive that she's only been with us since April of 2007!
I believe that we have the Az Border Collie Rescue to thank for this. They are such caring folks! They work so closely with prospective adoptive families to ensure that they are matched up with the right dog. The adoption process is very impressive, from the first screening on-line to phone interviews and a home visit by a Rescue Represenative. To the search through pictures and profiles on the website. Then to setting up the meetings with the dogs and prospective family, (even Jake was included in the meeting)! Everything was done to ensure a proper "fit" and a perfect "match" between Animal and Owner! And, as you can see, we are totally satisfied with our results and head over heels for our little girl!
