We adopted our little girl from a rescue outside of Denver, CO where pit bulls are outlawed and euthanized. An irresponsible owner left her unattended and she was hit by a car, which resulted in severe breaks in a rear leg. The owner did not seek medical attention for the breaks and wounds, and a good citizen chose to take action and get her help. She was rescued from the home and taken to a vet for care. Due to the overwhelming cost of surgery, vets and techs had to make the decision whether to operate or humanely euthanize, but everyone fell in love with her and she was kept alive! She had a very successful amputation surgery, went to a foster home for 4 months, and was then put up for adoption. We met her twice, introduced her to our other rescue dog, an alpha female doberman mix, and they got along beautifully! She now runs, plays, wrestles, licks and loves as if nothing bad has ever happened to her. She is amazingly resilliant, loving, and such a wonderful addition to our family!
